Memorial services were held Wednesday, March 28, 2017 in Logan, Utah for Esther Kay Tanner, 44, who passed away from respiratory failure due to pneumonia and chronic bronchitis.

Esther was born October 27, 1972 in San Diego, California, the eldest child of William Arthur Tanner and Sandra Kay Allen. She took her role as “big sister” to heart, often putting herself last. Esther was an excellent listener, possessed a sweet disposition, was generous and had a great empathy for mankind.

During her childhood years, she lived in El Cajon, California; Cameron, Missouri; Levan, Utah and Oak City, Utah. In 1990, Esther graduated from Delta High School. She married Evan Dean McKee of Vanderhoof, BC Canada and was later sealed in the Seattle Washington LDS Temple. The couple resided in Vanderhoof, British Columbia and Hinton, Alberta, where they welcomed three daughters and one son to their home; Dayla, TaRyssa, Kaston and Britley. Esther was a homemaker and her husband worked as a logger, eventually owning their own logging company.

In 1997, their family moved to Delta, Utah to be closer to family and owned a horse breeding and training business. A few years later, they moved to Logan, Utah to pursue higher education. While in Logan, Esther worked at ICON Health and Fitness, holding several leadership and training positions and held the managerial position at the Golden Corral Restaurant bakery.

Our mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend will be greatly missed by her family and friends, who wish to express their gratitude for the thoughts, prayers and kindness given to them by so many.

Esther is survived by her parents, Ron and Sandy Walker of Lyman, WY and Bill and Rita Tanner of Fillmore, UT; her seven sisters, Rachel Pope, Deborah Clark, Eve Petersen, Ruth Rowley, Rebekah Shakespeare, Hannah Clark, Mary Abbott, and brother, Will Tanner; her four children; Dayla McKee, TaRyssa McKee Luening, Kaston McKee and Britley McKee; and one grand daughter, Kazie Myra Luening.
