Roland Jessie Stevens, 77 passed away peacefully in his home in Meadow, Utah after a courageous battle with lung cancer, Sept. 19, 2017.

He was born Sept. 10, 1940 in Holden, Utah to Grant Seeley and Geneal Works Stevens.

In 1959 Roland graduated from Millard High School. Roland loved wood working and in his senior year of high school helped build his parents home in Holden, Utah. In 1959 he joined the U.S. Navy to see the world. He spent four years on the USS Hornet working as a boilerman. He married his sweetheart and love of his life, Janice Sue Jensen in Las Vegas, NV January 2, 1964. They were blessed to have a son Shawn R. (Nancy) Stevens and twin girls Melanie (Todd) Johnson and Marianne (Steve) Bjornson. Roland and his family loved to go fishing, camping, hunting and boating on the Puget Sound. Roland and Janice lived in Renton, WA for 25 years where they raised their children.  After he retired they moved to Meadow, UT.  Roland took pride in his yard. Mowing his lawn and riding his 4 wheeler gave him great joy and comfort during the last few years.

Roland is survived by his wife Janice, three children; seven grandchildren;  siblings, Sharon (Kent) Marlor, Bonnie (Tony) Dearden, Peggy (Eddie) Underwood; brother-in-law Jan (Carol) McKee.  Preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Aleana & Beth Johnson; sister, Koye McKee; brothers-in-law, Gary Butler & Nolan Llewellyn.

Funeral services will be held Friday September 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m in the Meadow LDS Chapel (108 E Center) with a viewing form 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services.  Interment in the Meadow  Town Cemetery. Online condolence rasmussenmortuary.com
