He attended Delta High School where he played football and wrestled as team captain, threw the discus in track, and love to high dive. He served an LDS Mission in Brazil. He was later deployed to Vietnam for 15 months where he was privileged to serve under General Westmoreland as a Sergeant Spec. 5 officer. Following the Army, he attended BYU, Weber State, and then graduated from SUU with a B.S. Degree in Carpentry. Dwight was a faithful member of the LDS church, serving as a Bishop, a member of the High Council, an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple, as well as many other callings.

A year ago, due to the many health challenges caused by Agent Orange while serving in Vietnam, he came to live in the Bennion Veterans Home where he filled the hearts of all he came across with his love, laughter, and wit.
