Federal law now only allows federal agencies to gather wild horses and burros; whereas, 50 years ago Millard County residents used to personally capture mustangs out on Swasey Mountain. Wild horses were rounded up by the BLM during the week of Feb. 12-Feb. 16. Local residents and travelers from afar came to watch the Bureau of Land Management gather 257 wild horses off of the Swasey mountain herd unit last week.

The Chronicle Progress staff and many customers are mourning the death of Georgie. She was found comfortly curled up in one of her favorite spots. She was approximately 16 years old. Her entire life was spent in the Chronicle Progress with the exception of the few times she ventured out, up the tree and called out from the roof until she was recscued.
