Yep, those are rhinestones.

This classy group, Bryce Canyon Wranglers, came to Delta. Performing at the D.H.S. Auditorium, they were met by a good crowd of locals. Tim Gates, lead singer, showed off a rich clear voice as he sang in tribute the songs of Willie Nelson, Florida Georgia Line, Ronnie Milsap and more. Joined by featured vocalist, Celeste Carter, dawning a black jacket shimmering with rhinestones, she brought energetic tribute to the songs of Dolly Parton.

Bryce Canyon Wranglers lead singer, Tim Gates, is originally from Richfield, Utah and is a Nashville, Tennessee alum. The Bryce Canyon Wranglers have been performing at Ebenezer’s Barn and Grill since 2018. In August 2019, their album, “A Song Like Me,” reached the highest charting country album on the new artist chart at No. 15 on the Billboard Country Album Sales Chart.

Another popular, and often comical, song is, “Helluva Place to Lose a Cow.” Ebenezer Bryce, who Bryce Canyon National Park is named after, is reported to have stated that “Bryce Canyon was one hell of a place to lose a cow.” To commemorate this story, the Bryce Canyon Wranglers knew they needed to write a song about it. With a mix of originals as well as hits and standards from every era of country music history. Gates’ songs have appeared on the albums of Bucky Covington, Blackhawk, Lucas Hoge and more.

Another notable artist from the band is Ward Williams, steel guitarist. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Williams also moved to Nashville, for the music scene. He has recorded several albums with bands such as Sorta, The Sparrows and The Old 97’s. His first major touring gig was with popular country artist Randy Houser.

While with Randy, Williams toured with Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley and more. Other talented artists performing in the group include Celeste Carter, featured vocalist; Justin Clark, lead guitarist; Josh Frischknecht, piano; and Corbyn Syrett, fiddle.

This group has plenty of character, from the bold top hat of Ward Williams, physical strength of Justin Clark, and apparent charm of Corbyn Syrett. They were a great group to watch, and be entertained by.
