Say hello to the 2023 Miss Hinckley.

Damaris Aranda is the daughter of Alejandro Aranda and Rose Apaza. She received her crown on Saturday evening in the Hinckley Town park. Aranda is an Incoming Freshman for the 2023-2024 school year. Not only does this young woman shine on stage, she also excels in the classroom. She maintains a cumulative 4.0 GPA.

“Damaris is the type of student who has the ability to brighten anybody’s day. She gives genuine compliments to everyone and truly puts the needs of others before her own,” said Malori Nielson, a teacher.

Damaris decided to run for Miss Hinckley after she watched her older sister claim the title a year earlier, having so much fun in the process. Her favorite part of the competition was meeting new people and securing new friendships.

She is most excited for the Hinckley Pioneer Days rodeo, and can’t wait to jump on all the opportunities to serve her community. The Aranda sisters are a force to be reckoned with, claiming two tiaras for two years consecutively.

Hinckley’s newest titleholder wants to encourage other girls to take a chance and enter in the pageant.

“Don’t give up if you aren’t a finalist, keep working and try again,” she said to aspiring contestants.

Aranda’s attendants include Meah McDonald as First Attendant and Adilene Torres as Second Attendant. McDonald is the daughter of Ben and Mariah McDonald, and Torres is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nielson and Luis Torres.

Together the three young ladies will reign over municipal events and appear in parades throughout the county for the upcoming year.

Other contestants included Andrea Best, Jessica Jeffery, Hannah Tasker, Shiane Bringard and Tayton Timothy.
