LaVee Gowers Austin Evans 85, passed away April 29, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Las Vegas.

She was born January 2, 1938 to Clarence and Virginia Gowers in Nephi, Utah. She was their 5th daughter of 6. She was raised in Delta, UT and Nephi, UT where she attended school in both towns.

She married Clark Austin December 17, 1955 and together they raised 3 children. She had several jobs throughout her life. She was probably best known for serving coffee to the Nephi coffee drinkers at the café’s that she worked at. She liked to stay busy and enjoyed camping with family, making crafts, sewing and doing endless puzzles. She also had a green thumb and took pride in her yard and flowers.

In 2012 she married McRay Evans and moved to Bozeman, MT. She called him her handsome Montana cowboy and they enjoyed many good times together. She especially loved riding behind him on his motorcycle and spending time with his family.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Pam (Ed) Park, Nephi, UT, Tami Austin, Las Vegas, NV and Mark (Angie) Austin, Roosevelt, UT. One sister, Claudia (Mel) Briggs, Hurricane, UT, sisters in law, Mary (Tom) Randle, Grantsville, UT and Margaret (Brent) Hawkins, Payson, UT. LaVee has 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Clarice, Jeanne, Joyce and Linda, both husbands, daughter Lisa and a great-grandson, Riley.

Special thanks to Mark, Angie and Tami for welcoming her into their homes for care in her last months. As per her request there will be a celebration of life held at a later date.
