Steven had a tender heart and was the first to show compassion when others were suffering. He loved people and especially loved his siblings and wanted to be next to them as much as possible.

Steven was born on May 12, 2005, to Angela Janet Brown Jones and Steven Lynn Thompson in West Jordan, Utah. He attended South Davis Jr High, Herriman High School and Tooele High School, where he graduated in May 2023.

Steven loved being outdoors. He enjoyed skiing, biking, swimming and traveling with his family.

He loved all animals and he often found snakes and brought them home to share with us. It seemed that bugs would find him because he was always finding different species of bugs, some that we had never before seen. Praying mantis were among his favorites.

It was always fun to take pictures of Steven with his big smile and the silly faces he would sometimes pull. He was a comedian. He loved to act goofy and make people laugh.

When spending time with extended family, he would often be found playing a game with an older cousin or nurturing the little ones. He adored babies and little children.

His desire was to serve a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and someday attend college. He played the marimba and trombone in school and wanted to continue playing both in college.

But above all, pursuing a career in music was his ultimate dream. He was a natural at everything musical that he touched. He received honors awards for his playing of the marimba.

In the year after his graduation, he worked at Walmart and was working hard to save the money to go on his mission.

His siblings were proud to have him as their big brother and would proudly introduce Steven to their circle of friends. He left this life far too soon and will be dearly missed by his family and so many others.

Survived by: Joseph Thompson, brother; Kate Thompson, sister; Levi and Matthew Jones, half-brothers; Angela Janet Jones, mother; Brian Jones, Stepfather, grandparents Ed and Sylvia Brown.
