Delta Community Hospital and Fillmore Community Hospital are pleased to welcome Kurt Forsyth as the new hospital administrator.

Kurt will replace Lenny Lyons, who became the new hospital administrator at Orem Community Hospital. Kurt will officially start in his new role February 28.

Kurt, who was born in Denver, grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and decided to go into healthcare after working for a computer company. “I was employed at Dell but found that my heart really was with healthcare. I decided to switch careers and started a graduate program in Healthcare Management at Weber State. During that program, I did an internship with intermountain Medical Group in Layton. I loved it there. I set a goal at the beginning of my program to someday become a hospital CEO.”

After graduating, Kurt says he worked for several different healthcare companies, but knew Intermountain Healthcare was where he really wanted to be. “I worked as the director of a community health center in Nebraska and was pretty sure we’d stay there until at least my kids had all graduated,” says Kurt. “But all the pieces lined up perfectly to be able to take this incredible opportunity to come back to Intermountain and work in my lifelong dream job.”

Kurt and wife, Naomi, have been married 19 years, and have three children; Cydney, 17, Spencer, 15, and Jayden, 12. Naomi is a schoolteacher.

Kurt’s hobbies include playing and watching all sports. He’s a Dallas Cowboys fan and speaks fluent Romanian.

Kurt holds a bachelor’s from the University of Utah, and a master’s in Health and Healthcare Administration and Management from Weber State University.
