Millard County Fair to start June 15

The Millard County Fair is soon to kick off Thursday through Saturday, June 15-17.

The fair opens to the public on Thursday at 3 p.m. Immediately after, kids younger than 14 can pick up premium prize money at the auditions booth until 5 p.m. 

Following will be a poultry show, where children bring their best chicken to be judged. The best bird and handler win a cash prize. 

The Days of the Old West PRCA Rodeo horse parade follows at 6:30 p.m.. It will start at the Delta City park and will include the rodeo committee, 4H members, Millard, Hinckley and Delta royalty, grand marshals and the Ute Stampede Rodeo Queens. The fair will close at 7 p.m.

Following the parade, there will be a junior rodeo that's held in the outdoor arena until 7:30 p.m, where country artist John King will perform a free concert on the outdoor stage. 

The fair reopens on Friday at 10 a.m.

During the day there will be numerous indoor and outdoor booths to be able to purchase goods. 

At 12 p.m. Melody Mincer, Megan Huber and more will perform musical numbers. HypnoHick, aka Shaun Dee, will take the stage at 2:30 p.m. doing a comedy hypnotism routine until 3:30 p.m. 

Local talents from the Miss Millard 2022 royalty will entertain following Dee’s act.

Afterwards, Jason Fun will charm crowds with a humorous magic show. The last event for the fair on Friday will be a rabbit show. 

The fair will close again at 7 p.m.

The rodeo will begin at 7:45 p.m. with the theme of “Tough Enough to Wear Pink.” 

Following reopening Saturday morning, attendants can compete in a corn hole tournament. Scales and Tails, an interactive and educational live reptile show will be in the fair building. 

 Following that, HypnoHick will be performing another show.

At 12 there will be antique tractor pull. An hour later at 1:00, there will be a “Meats and Sweets Contest” where competitors will bring their best dish to be judged in the hopes of winning big prizes,and of course bragging rights.

At 5 p.m. will be another free concert, featuring Seasoned Amnesia, a classic rock tribute band, at the outdoor stage.

The fair will close at 7. The rodeo's theme is Patriotic Night.
