Applications are being accepted for the following AmeriCorps position for the 2021-2022 

school year in the Millard School District: 

1 – Full-time position – Delta South Elementary 

1 – Full-time position – Delta North Elementary 

The AmeriCorps program places members in schools with their responsibility being to mentor students who have been identified by school leadership as needing support and help to be successful in school. Members are paid $16500 (full time)/$11,500 (reduced full time) over 10 months and will receive an education award $6345 (full time)/$4441 (reduced full time) for 2 years at the conclusion of their service. Full time members may qualify for health insurance and help with child care expenses. Each school will set up a unique program/member job description that will best suit the students identified to participate (minimum of 30 students for part time/ 50 students for full time). Elementary School members typically supervise volunteers who help with the Star Reading Program. 

AmeriCorps members will also be required to: 

1) Complete 1200 hours (reduced-full time) or 1700 hours (full time) during the school year 

2) As part of these hours, engage in community service – 50 hours for part time, 100 hours for full time members 

3) Recruit volunteers to act as tutors or mentors in afterschool programs. 

AmeriCorps positions are 3 - 4 years in duration. Applicants must be able to pass a qualifying test or provide proof of an Associates Degree or have completed 48 semester hours.
