Dear Editor,

Since the March 9 publication of the Chronicle Progress about me some have tried to discourage me from running (for county commissioner) for two main reasons.

There have been questions about my status as an American Citizen. I want to put that to rest.

I am an American citizen. I was born in Watsonville, California in 1993 and my parents migrated to Fillmore, Utah in 1995 to work in agriculture, which paid for my upbringing in this wonderful community. To which I’ll forever be grateful.

I understand that there are concerns with me running from Fillmore. When historically there have been two West Millard Commissioners and one from East Millard. I realize West Millard is twice as big. I can understand and appreciate this concern.

I would like to reassure the great people of our county that I will be equally engaged in representing both sides and never prioritize one’s interests over another.

Over the following weeks and months, you’ll see me in the Delta area with the hopes of gathering your thoughts and concerns.

The people of Millard County from both sides have helped raised me and provided guidance for me throughout my life, when my father left my home this community helped fill that role.

They got me into the wrestling program and brought me into the LDS church. Which taught me good principles that helped shape my life. And ever since I came home from a mission several years ago I have felt a great desire to repay this great community for everything they’ve done for me.

This is why I waited until I felt the timing was right and decided to run for public office. Not just to serve the interests of a few but to serve the interests of the community as a whole and I hope to meet each one of you individually over the next few months to talk about what we can make happen together.
