Aug. 23, 1945 ~ July 3, 2023
Don Taylor Bishop passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 3, 2023 in his home.
Don was born in Payson, UT on August 23, 1945, the fifth of 15 children to Gordon and Kathryn (Kay) Bishop.
Don grew up in Hinckley, Utah working on the family farm until they moved to Logandale, Nevada when he was 9 years old. Later they moved back to Hinckley when he was 15.
He was called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Central America Mission where he labored in Honduras, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and El Salvador.
After returning home, Don met the love of his life Rosemary Ludwig. They were married and later sealed together on June 28, 1969 in the Manti Temple. Don loved his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren.
Don took pride in everything he did. He believed in becoming better at whatever he was doing and would always strive to be the best he could be.
He loved horses and participating with his friends in the riding club especially team roping. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was a huge fan of BYU and would watch and rewatch many football, basketball and volleyball games. He loved to drive anything fast and worked hard to keep tires on his El Camino and Mustang.
Don will be remembered for the many acts of service he provided. If he knew of a need, he would always try to help. He had many callings in the church, but his favorite was serving as a temple ordinance worker in the Manti temple. His testimony of the Savior and the church never wavered.
Don worked hard to provide for his family. He had a knack for being able to quickly learn to operate many kinds of heavy machinery. Eventually, he retired from Graymont after working there for 16 years.
Don is survived by his wife, Rosemary; sons, Travis (Tiffani), Shawn (Jodi), Brandon (Shanda) and daughter Jodi (Justin); grandchildren, Josh, Bailey, Jarren, Spencer (Arcadia), Jamison, Kaylee (Erik), Aubrey, Cole, Brooklyn, Ali; brothers and sisters, Eccles, Dale, Barbara, Mary Ellis, Marsha, Paul, Melanie, Colleen, Linda, Max, and Cindy. He was proceeded in death by his parents Gordon and Kay Bishop; brothers Darnall, John, and Alma; grandsons Scott and Justin.
The family would like to thank all the physicians and nurses who had attended and helped Don through his physical struggles.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2023 at the Delta West Stake Center, 188 North Main Street, Hinckley. There will be a visitation prior to the funeral at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Hinckley Cemetery.
