A 21-year-old Fillmore woman was critically injured early Friday morning near the Meadow Hot Pots.

A group of friends was enjoying the area when a person called 911 at about 4:20 a.m. to report the woman fell and hit her head.

First responders arrived at the scene and immediately started CPR to resuscitate the victim.

Millard Sheriff’s Capt. Pat Bennett said it was not clear whether the woman hit her head while in the hot pots or was outside the geologic feature when the incident occurred—the area has recorded numerous fatalities and serious incidents over the years.

“The initial report was that she had fallen and hit her head and was unresponsive,” the captain said. “They initiated CPR while they were en route (to the hospital).”

Bennett said there was not an update available on the woman’s condition as of press time Monday.

“I’m not exactly sure where it stands right now,” the captain said.
