A single-vehicle rollover in Delta sent six people to the local hospital Monday morning.

Two people were injured seriously enough that two helicopters were called in to evacuate them to a northern medical center. However, one of the injured was reportedly too unstable to be flown out and instead was later transported by ambulance.

Four juveniles were among the accident’s victims, said Capt. Pat Bennett, a spokesman for the Millard County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident occurred at about 8:30 a.m. near 3000 S and 1000 E. Delta High School students were reported to be among the injured.

Bennett said the cause of the accident, which involved an SUV-style vehicle, is under investigation.

Photos from the scene appear to show the vehicle having veered off the roadway, into a ditch before flipping upside down.

Few details were available as of press deadline Monday.
