Highland woman suspected of driving under the influence has multiple priors

A Highland woman is being held in Millard County Jail after she was arrested for drunk driving and putting other motorists at risk.

Analisa Christensen, 42, was arrested Saturday evening after multiple 911 calls were made of a silver BMW headed north in the southbound lanes of I-15 near mile post 178.

A probable cause statement in the matter states that a UHP trooper was forced to use a PIT maneuver, striking the vehicle head on in order to stop it from colliding with other vehicles. Both vehicles were disabled. The trooper was not reported to be injured.

Upon arrival at the scene, the reporting deputy conducted an accident investigation, the report states, where he allegedly found an open bottle of whiskey.

The deputy proceeded to contact Christensen at the hospital, where he “detected an alcoholic odor coming from her person, noted bloodshot and glossy eyes.”

The deputy states a record check showed Christensen was convicted of similar charges, with two prior DUI convictions in 2018 and as recent as March 2023. She is also registered as an alcohol restricted driver with a revoked license and interlock device.

Christensen was then taken into custody and charged with third-degree felony driving under the influence, misdemeanor interlock restricted driver operating a vehicle without an interlock device, alcohol restricted driver and driving on a suspended license, possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle and infraction driving the wrong way on a one way street.

Christensen is scheduled to make an initial appearance in Fourth District Court Wednesday morning. She is being held without bail.
