Baby boy born at 6 pounds, 9 ounces on Jan. 1

Delta Community Hospital welcomed the county’s first baby of the year on New Year’s Day.

Eva and Jhon Ochoao-Llauachaqui welcomed their fifth child and third son, Noah Jahziel, at 12:59 a.m.

He measured 19 inches and weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces.

“It’s always exciting to welcome our first baby of the year,” said Rita Willoughby, RN, women and newborn services. “Our labor and delivery nurses, along with our delivery physician, Dr. Spencer Nielson, were so excited to take care of mom and baby. We want to congratulate Eva and Jhon on their new bundle of joy and wish them, their baby, and family a lifetime of love, health, and laughter.”

The family was greeted by representatives of the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce, who delivered a trove of gifts from community businesses.

Delta Community Hospital is a 15-bed facility and has been serving the Delta area for more than 30 plus years.

Approximately 78 babies were born at Delta Community Hospital in 2023.
