Olive Taylor Allred, 34 days shy of 101, passed away March 3, 2020 in Delta, Utah.
Olive was born April 7, 1919 in Lyman, Wayne County, Utah to Platt S. and May Maxfield Taylor. Mom married Ervin L. Allred on June 17 1940. That marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Her beloved husband passed away on November 23, 1977 at their home in Delta, Utah.
Mom was one of four children, Nathan, Rayola, and Beryl, all deceased. Mom’s childhood days were spent in McCornick and South Tract, Utah. Mom had many stories and memories of growing up on a farm, milking cows, riding horses, climbing hay stacks, playing in ditches and drowning quimp.
Mom was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many callings. She served a 15-year mission at the Delta Deseret Industries, a calling she often talked about. Mom loved to crochet and knitted several hundred hats for the church humanitarian department.
Mom is survived by her daughter Linda (Robert) Grygla; Steve; and Howard (Vickie).
A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 3 p.m. in the Delta City Cemetery under the care of Olpin Stevens Funeral Home. Online condolences can be offered at www.olpinstevensfuneralhome.com
