Stacy Valoy Cox Funk

May 2, 1964 ~ May 7, 2020

Stacy Valoy (Cox) Funk, 56, fought metastatic breast cancer valiantly for five years, but was unable to continue fighting and she returned home to her Heavenly Father on May 7, 2020.

Stacy leaves behind her husband, Thomas Funk; daughter Burcu Peker; granddaughter Hannah Rodriguez; parents Pauline (Olsen) Wood and Kenneth and Rosemary (Sherlock) Cox; sisters Valenti (Jeffrey) Kyner and Trissie Cox; and brothers Scott (Lynn) Cox, Kevin Cox and Kenny (Sarah) Cox. She is preceded in death by her step-father, Roy Lon Wood and nephew, Ethan M Lund. 


Stacy loved to travel and try new foods. As a young teenager she developed the love of communicating through letters. For many, many years she wrote letters to her pen pals around the world. Later she would share her love and encouragement through letters to military personnel serving in the wars. Stacy hobbies included reading, crocheting, knitting, and cross stitching. She was a very kind, understanding, and patient person. 

As a young adult, Stacy worked at a facility for the mentally handicapped in American Fork, UT. She loved working with them. After the birth of her daughter she moved to Delta, UT where she worked as a security guard at Brush Wellman plant. Stacy also worked as a manager of Lotsa Motsa Pizza for many years.  She taught a sign language class at the technical college in Delta. Stacy loved her family and friends and leaves behind a hole in their lives. Stacy will be greatly missed by countless family and friends. May you Rest In Peace.
 
Celebration of Life will be held August 29, 160 N Main (senior citizen center in the basement of the courthouse) Nephi Ut at 1 p.m.
