12/18/1969 ~ 6/21/2020

Cory Frank Shurtz was born on December 18, 1969 to Cecil and Barbara (Davis) Shurtz in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was welcomed to his family in Delta, Utah by his brothers; Keith, Jim, Ray and sisters; Peggy and Lisa. He was adored by his sisters and they toted him everywhere in their doll buggy.

After graduating from Delta High School in 1988; he attended SLCC where he studied Diesel Mechanics (following in his father’s and oldest brother’s footsteps).

Cory was a big guy with an artistic soul; he drew, painted (oils and acrylics), and even made ceramic pottery. At one point, he even thought about making art a career (which mom would have loved). He was larger than life and made his nieces and nephews feel loved. He rarely lost patience with them no matter how annoying they became.

Cory married Sandi Rhoades; (they later divorced) and they had two beautiful daughters; McKenzie Joanne and Morgan Barbara. He adored his daughters but because of his struggles he was unable to show them.

Cory returned to our Heavenly Father on June 21, 2020 where he was greeted by his Mother (who had been waiting patiently for a long time) and his Father (recently deceased) and many other loved ones.

A celebration of life for Cory will be held at a later date. Online condolences at rasmussenmortuary.com
