Jan. 13, 1949 ~ Oct. 27, 2020

Jay Van Warnick, 71, passed away October 27, 2020 in Provo, UT surrounded by his family.

He was born January 13, 1949 in Delta, Utah to Van and Carole Black Warnick. He married Beverly Aleene Adair in the Mesa Arizona Temple on June 12, 1968 later divorced. He married the love of his life Lisa Ann Law on August 10, 1985 in Frazier Park, California, they were later sealed in the Manti Temple on February 25, 1995.

He was raised in Deseret, Utah where he learned and taught all the ropes of life. He loved horses and it's been said that he could shimmy up a horse at 4 years old. He loved Deseret and was proud of his heritage. He was a great athlete in many sports including a state championship in football. He graduated from Delta High School in 1967 as the first senior class president at the new high school. He carried on many friendships from his school years. He spent most of his life in the Delta area. He was a jack of all trades owning his own trucking company for many years. He loved driving trucks and always said it was the best job (full time tourist) and travelling the country making friends at every stop. He has never met a stranger.

Horse racing, watching the Utah Jazz, hunting, fishing with the grandkids, and going on adventures with the love of his life were the highlights of his life. There was always a spot at the campfire for anyone who wanted to listen to his stories (and you could hear his laugh for miles). He lived for his kids and grandkids and never wanted to miss their activities. He traveled all over the country to be there for them all. He always said he had the best and they all believed they were.

Jay loved the gospel and being a temple worker. He held many callings but his favorite and most recent was being a primary teacher.

He loved his family. He always said if you have your family you have everything all this other stuff it doesn't matter. He loved us all so BIG that we can feel it from heaven.

He is survived by his wife Lisa Ann Warnick; children: Jaylene (Cary) Crist, Shannon (Brad) Moody, Sterling (Kristina) Warnick, Ryan Traum, Monica (JJ) Lovell, Terice (Mike) Roper, Paige (Braydon) Markworth.
