October 15, 1940 ~ January 3, 2020

Ken Grant Bishop returned to our Father in Heaven on Sunday, January 3, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 80.
Ken was born in Delta, Utah on October 15, 1940 to Grant Hilton and Dail Stapley Bishop. He was raised in Sutherland, where he attended elementary school. Ken was a natural athlete. Growing up, he enjoyed playing sports on the Sutherland teams, where he made lifelong friends.

Growing up on a farm was a blessing to him. It allowed him the opportunity to work side-by-side with his Dad, where he learned to love farming. Ken graduated from Delta High School in 1959 where he played football, basketball and his favorite baseball. Following high school he attended Central Utah Vocational School in Orem, now UVU, where he graduated as an auto mechanic.

During his senior year of high school, he met the love of his life, Venice Ruth Moody. They married two years later on November 11, 1961, settling in Sutherland where they raised their four children. On March 27, 1968, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple.

Ken worked the family farm and as a mechanic to provide for his family. His shop was often times filled with vehicles that he would work on for free. After the passing of their son, Matt in 2012, he sold the family farm and moved to Delta with his wife where they lived out the remainder of their days.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints his entire life. Over the course of his life, he held many church callings and possessed a strong testimony of God the Father and Jesus Christ.

Ken will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love of his family, sound advice, steadfastness, Ken-isms, a strong testimony, a love of sports, classics cars, good horses, a good farm and John Deere tractors.

He is preceded in death by his wife: Venice; son: Matt Ken Bishop; parents: Grant and Dail; sister: Janice; and brother: Clyn. He is survived by his daughters: Karen (Leonard) Bogdanowicz of Fallon, NV; Vicki (Cary) Brunson of Elizabeth, CO; and Connie (Bill) Shank of Round Mountain, NV; sisters: Floy (Tom) Wagstaff of Ogden; Nada (Riley) Turpin of Salt Lake City; Drexel (Kenny) Meacham of Mesquite, NV; brother: Ross (Betty Rae) Bishop of Syracuse; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service attended by his family will held in Sutherland on Friday, January 8. He will be laid to rest in the Delta City Cemetery next to his wife and son. Online condolences and the link to the video recording of the funeral will be made available at www.nicklemortuary.com
