She was a greatly beloved daughter, mother, and Grammy.

She was the first of three children born to Lewis Knox and Josephine (Judy) Huntsman in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her father’s work took her all over the United States and South Korea. She attended many different schools, and she graduated in 1977 with high honors from Bethel High School in Hampton, Virginia. She married and later divorced Kenneth Tucker with whom she had two daughters, Virginia and Valorie; and she adored her grandchildren, Ethan and Noah Steffen, and Lilith Dalton.

Sylvia worked hard all of her life. She always put others before herself.

Sylvia loved the mountains, her cats, and her family and friends.

She is survived by her mother, Judy Huntsman; daughters, Virginia Steffen and Valorie Dalton; and grandchildren, Ethan and Noah Steffen, and Lilith Dalton. She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Knox Huntsman; and her sister, Cynthia Huntsman.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at St. George Regional Hospital for the excellent care and compassion they gave Sylvia.

Sylvia, you are forever in our hearts, and we will miss you dearly and daily. You brightened and enriched the lives of so many people, and you will always be loved.

If you would like to make remembrance, donations can be made to the Huntsman Cancer Center or the ASPCA.
