May, 20, 1939 ~ March 5, 2021

Richard Britt passed away March 5, 2021 at his home in Sanger, California.

He was born May 20, 1939 in Sanger to Frank and Merle Britt. He was raised in Sanger and married Patsy Carling in 1958. Together they raised six kids. In 1977 he and mom left Fresno and loaded the kids and was moving to Alaska. Mom agreed, only if they went through Fillmore so she could see all of her relatives. After a 12 hour ride with six kids in a camper, Dad said this was far enough, and made Fillmore their new home. They loved raising their kids in Fillmore.

Standing at 6'5" and 330 pounds, Richard was known for his strength. On one occasion when his son-in-law backed his 1968 Camaro into an irrigation ditch in front of the house he calmly went out and laughed at everyone trying to figure out what to do. He grabbed the back bumper and lifted the car and moved it several feet out of the ditch, to the amazement of many who saw it. He was a gentle giant.

Dad loved his race cars. He would go out daily and race even into his eighties. His favorite thing was having his family come and visit him and mom and of course winning a few races... He will be missed for his kindness and wisdom by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Patsy; children Monte (Ray) Evans, Fresno; Sheri Mize, Fresno; Danett Britt, Tooele; Adam (Penny) Britt, Fillmore; Dan Britt, Fillmore; Aaron (Stacy) Britt, St. George. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Merle Britt, grandson Jesse Freeman and granddaughter Shayna Evans. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and ten great-grand children.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 12 in Fresno, California.
