Eugene DeVon Lund, 84, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, April 5, 2021 in Fillmore, UT.

Gene was born on March 14, 1937 in Beaver, Utah to Elwood E. Lund and Alice Marie Robinson.   Grandpa Gene was a graduate of Beaver High School. After graduating high school, he joined the Navy where he served as a Radio Man Third Class, USN. The Navy took him all over the world, and he often shared stories of adventures in New Zealand, Honolulu, Hong Kong, Korea, and Japan.  

After an Honorable Discharge from the Navy, he married Karen Lee Hutchings on September 7, 1962 in Beaver, UT. Together they built a life in Fillmore with their two children: David Eugene Lund and Sheila Marie Lund (Sheriff). Gene worked for AT&T as a communication specialist until he retired. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed spending time with his horses, and was an active member of the Fillmore Riding Club. He also enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and attending horse races.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Lee Hutchings, and two children David Eugene Lund (Laurie) of Holden and Sheila Marie Sheriff (Marshall) of Fillmore. Grandpa Gene is also survived and loved by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Eugene is proceeded in death by his parents, and his sister Mary Lou.

Friends are invited to visit the family at Rasmussen Mortuary (44 East Center ST.) in Fillmore on Wednesday, April 7 from 6 to 8 pm. Additionally, friends and family may call at the Mountainview Cemetery in Beaver, UT on April 8 at 11:30 a.m., with a graveside following at 12 p.m.
