Gorman Brent Turner passed away on Aug. 2, 2023 from complications after surgery in Bangkok, Thailand. 

He was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, the son of Melvon and Mary Turner, but lived the majority of his childhood in Fillmore, Utah. He graduated from Millard High School in 1965 and soon after joined the Air Force. 

His military career lasted for 30 years with deployments to Thailand, California, Germany, and Okinawa. He achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and was awarded many decorations during his enlistment, including many service medals. His proudest achievement was being awarded the Medal of Honor of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Germany for his dil-gence in developing camaraderie between NATO forces and their German counterparts resulting in excellent relations with NATO allies. At the time he was presented with this acknowledgment, he was the only known NCO from a foreign country to receive this award. 

He returned to Utah and worked in the private sector for another 20 years before retiring full time. 

He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, and his annual trips to Thailand. 

He is survived by his beautiful wife, Bunjob, his two children, Anne and Shane, his four grandchildren, Andrew and Philip Price, Chayne Turner, and Kassidy Buckner (Tristan Buckner), his two great-grandchildren, Brecken and McCoy Buckner, as well as his sister, Dixie Melville, and brother, David Turner. 

As per his wishes, he will be laid to rest in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand with his wife when she passes. All memorial services will take place in Thailand.
