Dinah Quarnberg Johnson, 81, passed away on August 10, 2023, at Beaver Long Term Care, Beaver, Utah.

She was born on March 4, 1942, at 3:52 a.m. at the Holy Cross Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah to Phyllis Olsen & Francis Merrild Quarnberg. She weighed in at six pounds 13 ounces and had beautiful blue eyes with brown hair when she was a newborn.

She grew up in Scipio, Utah. She attended Scipio Elementary School & Millard High School. She had a love of animals and enjoyed riding her horses along with taking care of all the stray cats in the neighborhood. She married Francis G Llewelyn later divorced, she then married Gary E Powell later divorced, and then married Rondo Johnson widowed. 

Dinah was a dedicated mother whose every thought was on taking care of her two boys. 

She loved dolphins and lighthouses. Dinah was a fantastic cook and waitress at many area restaurants. She worked at the Renegade Lounge for 20 plus years where she cherished her seasonal friends and local patrons. While growing up she spent many hours on the farm with her father and loved riding along with him in the milk truck.

She was dearly loved by all of her nieces and nephews and their kids. She was like another mom/grandma to them all. Special thanks to Beaver Long Term Care and Doctor Oakden for their loving care.

She was preceded in death by her parents - Phyllis Quarnberg & Francis Merrild Quarnberg and brothers Keith and Glen. She was survived by her Sister- Arlene (Fred), Beaver, Utah, Son - Gary Merrill Powell (Staci) - South Jordan, UT, Son - Russell Leonard Powell - Enoch, UT, Granddaughter - Haley A Richards, Laramie, Wyoming, Granddaughter - Elissa (Jason) Tran, Herriman, Utah, Great Grandchildren - Zaiah Ray Turner and Everlee Jane Tran, Herriman, Utah. Many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly

A viewing will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023, 6 to 8 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary located at 195 N 200 W, Beaver, Utah 84713.

A second viewing and a brief service will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Community Center located at Main Street, Scipio, Utah. Interment will be in the Scipio Cemetery, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent at www.mortuary.org.
