Aug. 15, 1929 ~ Aug. 20, 2023

LuDean Lundberg Day, age 94, passed away on August 20, 2023 in Fillmore, Utah, in the home where she raised her family.

LuDean was born on August 15, 1929, the third child of Heber Hendrick Lundberg and Susie Ellis Lundberg. She had two older sisters, LeVirl and Donna, and one younger brother, Heber Junior. She grew up in a loving home, and her parents taught her the value of hard work.

While taking classes at the business college, LuDean saw a very handsome young man she just had to get to know. When that same young man couldn't secure her for the upcoming dance, it didn't stop him from attending and cutting in on every song. That was the beginning of a lifetime of love and happiness. On April 28, 1950, LuDean married her sweetheart, Max Leon Day, in the Logan Temple.

She loved the Lord so very much. She dedicated her life to spreading the joy of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Throughout her lifetime, she held many positions within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a temple worker in the Manti Temple for fourteen years. She shared her love of music by playing the piano, the organ, and singing in a choir and with friends.

She gave freely of her time to her community as a Den Mother for the Scouts, and a sewing instructor for the 4-H organization. She cherished her membership with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers for over thirty years. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Fireman's Auxiliary.

LuDean could often be found tending her garden. She also enjoyed sewing, baking, and going for ATV rides. In December, 2000, at the age of 71, she completed a 100-mile swimming challenge. She spent countless hours working on her family history and loved learning the stories of those who had gone before her.

LuDean loved and cared for her family and community, never forgetting a birthday or important event. Her door was always open, literally, and more often than not her home was filled with loved ones and friends. She was always quick to share some advice, or pause for a moment for prayer. She had a generous heart and a radiant smile–a smile that showed not only her love for others, but also the love of her Savior.

LuDean is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, her husband, two of her sons, Dallin Leon and Darwin Roger; and one grandson, Kamen Wolf King Kanosh. She is survived by her brother Heber (Joan); daughter-in-law Cindy Day (Darwin); children Kevin E. (Annette), Arlene (Ken) Berrett, and Preston; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the Fillmore 1st/4th Ward chapel with a viewing at 10 a.m. prior to services.  Interment in the Fillmore City Cemetery. Online condolences at rasmussenmortuary.com
