Forrest Xavier Wilkinson passed on to his Heavenly home on September 28, 2023.
We were blessed by his beauty, intelligence, and kind heart for 29 years. Forrest was blessed with many gifts, an active imagination, loved to tinker and expand his mind. In his youth he loved learning and writing Chinese and playing his saxophone for others. He also wrote piano music and played the piano at his high school assembly, without having a single piano lesson. He excelled in football as quarterback, was team captain in basketball, lettered in baseball and often would mask his sports injuries and continue playing so that he wouldn't let his team down. He was a Pittsburg Steelers and Utah Jazz fan and loved attending games with his family. Forrest was a dream child.
Forrest grew up in West Valley City, Utah and sometimes attended Hunter High School, East Hollywood High School, and graduated early from Washington High School, Ogden, Utah. In Forrest's pre-teen years he was traumatized and subsequently parts of his life took a dark turn; it was at this time his parents were introduced to advanced parenting skills, a maze of adventures, and personal growth. Despite the obstacles and temptations he encountered with this phase of his life, Forrest's energy and spirit were bright, and people loved to be around him. He was a hard worker, always analyzing how to do things better, and giving the job his everything. He was comfortable with everyone and in any environment. Forrest was the best, non-judgmental listener and you could talk to him about anything in confidence, and if you wanted, he would give you an honest opinion. Forrest was very well read, loved the Book of Mormon, loved to write, especially poetry, and hoped one day to publish a book. Forrest loved life, his family and people. He longed for peace and for everyone to get along, forgive one another, love one another, and just be happy. Forrest didn't care about material possessions, was generous, and would give his money and belongings to others he felt needed it more than him. He lived to give!
We will miss his sense of humor, his smile, and beaming beautiful blue eyes that sparkled when he heartily laughed. We will miss his strength, and all the many adventures that had been planned. But we know that all the anguish and pain he suffered is over, and that he will be with us in spirit when we truly need him as a guardian angel. Forrest would want us to remember the good times and let go of any guilt, forgive ourselves, become our best, and know that we can meet him again.
Forrest is survived by his son, Nikolia G. Wilkinson, Beatriz Hernandez (his son's mother), his parents Randy & Michelle Wilkinson, his sisters - Christine Levensailor, A. Sade Gold, and his brother, Spencer R. Wilkinson, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Forrest is preceded in death by many grandparents.
Viewing, Funeral services, and a Celebration of Forrest's 29 years of life will be on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at his residence in Kanosh, Utah, 90 West 100 North; the viewing will be from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m.; Funeral from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m.; Celebration of Life will be from end of funeral to 2:00 p.m. Following the Celebration of Life the Interment will be at the Kanosh Cemetery under the care of Olpin Stevens Funeral Home.
