August 28, 1941  ~  October 14, 2023

We honor our beautiful mother, Barbara Lynn Golden Dafoe, age 82, who passed away on October 14, 2023, in her Delta, Utah home that she loved dearly of natural causes.

The unwavering sacrifices made for her family, the hardships she endured, and her faith and devotion to her Savior Jesus Christ made our world a better place.

She was born in Plainview, Texas on August 28, 1941 to Tom C. and Margaret F. Golden. Her early years were spent in Salida, Colorado. As she grew up, she had a great love for the mountains and spending time with her sweet daddy. She was married to Donovan V. Dafoe on November 30, 1960. They settled in Delta, Utah in 1964 as part of their employment with AT&T. She and Don eventually divorced, but she did all she could to make her home a pleasant place for her children. She was an amazing homemaker: a wonderful cook, skilled seamstress (making dresses for many of her daughters special occasions), and enjoyed spending her time making her garden blossom with beautiful flowers. She also was a deep soul and wrote many wonderful poems to express her thoughts and emotions.

Her love for God led her to find truth in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she was baptized on January 3, 1977 along with her husband and children. Her faith never wavered; and with her sweet, yet strong testimony, she faithfully served within this community she loved.

Our lives have truly been filled with her grace! Barbara is survived by her children: Kathy (Kevin) Morris, Hinckley; Karen (Gary) Shurtz, Sutherland; Wayne (Wendy) Dafoe, Thornton, Colorado; Gail (Keith) Meinhardt, Oak City; Kristine (Sean) Thomas, Farson, Wyoming; Donovan (Aileen) Dafoe, Spanish Fork, Utah; Danielle (Gavin) Wright, Elk Ridge, Utah; and Diane (Jason) Cowley, Sandy, Utah; 31 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren; her dearly loved siblings: Gary (Linda) Golden; Tom (Judy) Golden; Peggy (John) Barron; and Rodney (Penny) Golden. She is preceded in death by her parents and infant son: Wesley Dafoe.

She always told us: "I loved you first"... Mom, "We love you forever!"
